چکیده

Compacted soils affect global crop productivity and environmental quality. A field study was conducted from 2014 to 2020 in the northern Great Plains, USA, evaluate effect of various rooting systems on soil compaction 2 yr rotations camelina (Camelina sativa L.), carinata (Brassica A.) a cover mix planted place fallow with durum (Triticum D.). The designed as randomized complete block three replications no-tillage system. classified Dooley sandy loam (fine-loamy, mixed, superactive, frigid Typic Argiustolls) derived glacial till parent material. Three measurements penetration resistance (PR) were taken penetrometer depth 0–30 cm within each plot. Soil moisture contents determined using TDR sensor at time PR measurements. Both monitored prior planting spring after harvest. Initial results showed that all plots had an average 2.244 MPa between 8–20 depth, due history tillage wheel traffic caused by activities. Covariance analysis indicated not significantly affected type content. After one cycle rotation, 2016 compacted layer existed same initial depths. However, two cycles, values reduced 1.480, 1.812, 1.775, 1.645 2018 1.568, 1.581, 1.476, 1.458 under camelina, carinata, mix, treatments, respectively. These findings indicate previous roots could effectively improve penetrating layer, decompose over form voids root channels. Although these are novel significant, further research is needed different crops support our making any conclusion.

Long-term tillage and residue management effect on soil compaction and nitrate leaching in a Typic Haploxerert soil

A field experiment was conducted to compare the effects of long-term tillage and cropresidue management on some physical properties and nitrate leaching of a Typic Haploxerertsoil under winter wheat (Triticum vulgare L.)-soybean (Glycine max L.) double-croppingsystem. The tillage systems consisted of conventional tillage with stubble (CT1), conventionaltillage with stubbles burned (CT2), heavy ...

Tillage and crop residue effects on soil carbon and carbon dioxide emission in corn-soybean rotations.

Soil C change and CO2 emission due to different tillage systems need to be evaluated to encourage the adoption of conservation practices to sustain soil productivity and protect the environment. We hypothesize that soil C storage and CO2 emission respond to conservation tillage differently from conventional tillage because of their differential effects on soil properties. This study was conduct...

Soil microbial metabolism and invertase activity under crop rotation and no-tillage in North China

Soil samples were collected at both jointing and maturing stages of maize and wheat to compare the effects of 4-year no-tillage (NT) and conventional tillage (CT) on seasonal variations of microbial biomass carbon (C), metabolic quotient, and invertase activity in a sandy loam soil in North China. Soil invertase activity significantly increased (P < 0.05) from summer to spring of the next year ...

Effect of Tillage Practices on Soil Properties and Crop Productivity in Wheat-Mungbean-Rice Cropping System under Subtropical Climatic Conditions

This study was conducted to know cropping cycles required to improve OM status in soil and to investigate the effects of medium-term tillage practices on soil properties and crop yields in Grey Terrace soil of Bangladesh under wheat-mungbean-T. aman cropping system. Four different tillage practices, namely, zero tillage (ZT), minimum tillage (MT), conventional tillage (CT), and deep tillage (DT...
